Sunbeam Chats Podcast: Digital Disruption & My Cashless Class
May 10, 2026In January 2026, MyCashlessClass founder and CEO Dawn Nelson sat down with Marlon Hopkinson on TV6’s Morning Edition Business Breakfast segment for a conversation on what the all-in-one school transaction management platform had in store for Trinidad and Tobago and the Caribbean region.
On 26 January 2026, MyCashlessClass founder and CEO Dawn Nelson appeared on TV6’s Morning Edition for the Business Breakfast segment, in conversation with host Marlon Hopkinson.
The Morning Edition appearance was MyCashlessClass’s first national television feature. The Business Breakfast segment covered the company’s work so far within the Trinidad and Tobago school sector and its relevance as a lever for the digital economy: MCC positions itself not as a payments tool retrofitted to schools, but as a single integrated platform built for everything Caribbean families and school administrators need to manage day-to-day school transactions.
Dawn made a substantive case for the gentle disruption of the legacy approach to managing school transactions, carved from her own personal experience — as she laid out what MyCashlessClass actually does for parents, school administrators, and cafeteria operators, and how it could catalyse entrepreneurial opportunities for stakeholders across the school ecosystem.
She also teased upcoming developments — including the soon-to-be-unveiled online Catholic Bookstore on MCC, in partnership with the Roman Catholic Archdiocese of Port of Spain, and the precursor to MyCashlessClass’s regional rollout.
